Free Stuff

Who doesn’t love getting something for nothing? Don’t listen to people who say that nothing in life is free, they just don’t know where to look. Here is a long list of free stuff just for you. I am always on the lookout for freebies and I will update this list as I go. So, be sure to check back often.
Learn for Free:
- iTunes U – iTunes is way more than just music. At iTunes, U, you can learn for free from top universities, famous museums, and other cultural institutions. Access free video and audio content in the form of lectures, language lessons, tours, and much more! I recommend checking out the Top Downloads found on the right hand of the page. View it all on your computer or take this educational content with you anywhere on your iPod or iPhone. And it’s all free!
- Apple workshops – Whether you are thinking of buying a Mac, iPod, or iPhone, already have one, or just want to know what all the fuss is about, Apple holds free workshops in their retail stores just about everyday. They are usually about an hour long and I find them to be very fun and informative.

Listen to Free Music:
- iTunes Free Section – iTunes is a free download, available to everyone whether you have a Mac or a PC. On the homepage of the iTunes store, scroll all the way down the page until you find the Free on iTunes section. Every week, you will find new free songs.
- Amazon – Enjoy completely free songs and albums from Amazon.
Watch TV Shows and Movies for Free:
- Hulu – Watch popular movies and TV shows for free. Learn The Top 10 Hulu Hacks , written by the genius team at Lifehacker, one of the most popular and helpful websites ever created.
- Swap-a-DVD - With this great service, you can swap the DVDs that you have watched a million times for some that you may have never seen before.
- PBS Frontline: Watch full documentaries online for free.
- Top Documentary Films: Watch free documentaries online.
- SnagFilms: Watch free documentaries online.
- Redbox: Sign up to receive emails from Redbox and receive a free rental. Also, if you have never used any Redbox codes before, try DVDONME and BREAKROOM.
- Don’t forget your local public library. You might be pleasantly surprised at the selection of movies your library has to offer and they are all FREE! Just be sure to get them back on time.
Access Free Wi-Fi:
All of the places listed below offer free Wi-fi. I’ll add to the list as I find more so be sure to check back regularly.
- Starbucks – Receive two free hours a day of Wi-fi when you register your Starbucks card. As of July 1, 2010 Starbucks will offer free, unlimited wi-fi, no card necessary.
- Again, don’t forget your local public library.
Eat for Free:
- Sign up to become a mystery shopper. It is completely free to do so with every legit mystery shopping company. If they ask you to pay, walk away. There is a bit of paperwork involved but I think it is worth it to enjoy a free restaurant meal. I get restaurant shop job offers pretty regularly from BARE International.
Score Free Photo Prints:
- CVS Photo Center will reward you with 50 free prints when you sign up for free with your email address.
- Receive 20 free 4×6 prints when you register for free with Dotphoto.
- Kodak Gallery will give you 50 free 4×6 prints for signing up with them for free!
- Snapfish will also give you 50 free prints when you join for free.
- You can get 1,200 free prints from ArtsCow when you join as a free member.
- SeeHere will give you 50 free prints for joining.
- York – Enjoy 40 free prints when you sign up for free with York Photo.
- Clark – Sign up for free and get 20 free prints!
- Hooray – Get 30 free 4×6″ prints just for signing up. You will also be eligible to get 20 additional free prints for free every month.
- PhotoMama – Sign up for free and earn yourself 50 free prints!
Get Free Stock Photos:
- stock.xchng – This is the leading free stock photo site. I use it often to find images for this blog and for the articles I write.
- StockVault – Another great site for locating free photos and images.
Get Fit for Free:
- Exercise TV – Watch tons of exercise videos for free. Click here to learn more about Exercise TV.
- Free Yoga – I love Yoga! If you do too, here are free Yoga videos for your enjoyment.
- Visit your local public library for exercise DVDs available for check out.
Use Free Directory Assistance:
- 1-800-GOOG-411 (Google’s free directory assistance)
- 1-800-FREE-411.
(You may have to listen to a short ad when you call but it is still worth it to me.)
Read for Free:
- PaperBackSwap – Swap paperbacks, hardcovers, audio books, and novels for free.
- Of course, you can always read for free at your local public library!

- Free Annual Credit Report – As consumers, we now have access to a free copy of our credit report each year.
Get Your Free Credit Score:
- I never thought it was possible but I saw on Good Morning America that you can get your credit score for free from Credit Karma.
Get Great Freebies for Your Birthday:
- Birthday freebies go far beyond the usual free restaurant dessert. Check out all of the great free gifts that you can treat yourself to on your special day.
Find Love for Free:
- Plenty of Fish – Finally, a dating site that is 100% free.
- OkCupid: Referred to as “The Google of dating” by the Boston Globe, this free site is worth checking out.
Send Free e-Cards:
- 123 Greetings – Free e-cards for every occasion.
- Smilebox – This awesome website lets you add music, videos, and photos to customized greetings and email them for free. You can also choose to post them to Facebook for free.
Get Free Samples:
- Free Samples – Sign up for free and receive soon your mailbox will be overflowing with free samples.
- Find fun freebies in your mailbox like the ones pictured below. Get started with Walmart and Start Sampling.
Drink for Free:
- Hustle free drinks – Wise Bread (one of my favorite personal finance websites) has an awesome article that shows you how to hustle free drinks. Click here to read it.
- Drink for free with beer rebates – Kristin from Couponing to Disney (one of my favorite sites) has the scoop on how to easily pay for your party fund through beer rebates.
Manage Your Money for Free:
- Mint – This is my favorite free money management site by far. If you wonder where all of your money goes, you definitely want to give Mint a try.
- Wesabe – I have not personally used this site but have heard good reviews about it.
- Quicken Intuit – This is another good free site to try for help managing your spending and saving.
Other Free Stuff:
- Freecycle – Help the planet and rescue gently used goods that might otherwise end up in a landfill. Create a free account and search for free items.
- craigslist – Did you know that there is a ton of free stuff listed on craigslist? Search your area for free stuff by leaving the search box blank and hitting enter. A new search box will appear at the top of your screen along with a drop down menu that offers more choices than the one on the home page. Simply select “free stuff” from the menu and hit enter. Now you can search for
