Coupons: Learning the Ropes

I have tried using coupons in the past but failed miserably. However, I have been inspired lately by other Smart Money Babes who save hundreds of dollars each year with coupons. Apparently, I am not the only one who wants to start saving money with scissors. According to a recent CNN article, coupon usage is up among every socioeconomic group.

I vow to make coupons work for me this time around. I realize that when it comes to saving money with coupons (and money in general), organization is key. I am much better equipped to benefit from coupons if they are organized and easy to locate.

With inspiration from Ruthanne at The Genco Family Journal, I decided to create a coupon binder. This was a huge improvement from my previous attempt at “couponing” when I kept of all my coupons scattered about in a letter sized envelope. I adore my binder. {Pics to come.} It is also important to have all of your necessary supplies so you can stay organized. In addition to having a coupon binder, it is a good idea to have hanging file folders.
